Purpose

Responsible for analysing, designing, and implementing operations and business process improvements that increase capacity, reduce lead-time, reduce the work-in-process, improve fill-rates, and improve process flow and efficiency. These actions will occur across multiple facets of Boston Scientific's organization including: manufacturing, design, supplier development, documentation, and Boston Scientific suppliers. Projects will incorporate lean manufacturing, theory of constraints, quick response manufacturing, Just-In-Time, Methods-Time Measurement, or a variety of other systems improvement philosophies. The employee will be required to create strong relationships with team members internal and external to Boston Scientific to ensure project success. Opportunity for flexibility in working mode where appropriate, while supporting the core business on site.

Responsibilities

  • Analyses, creates and implements distribution operations and business process improvements that increase capacity, optimize space usage, reduce lead-time, eliminate non-valued added activities, reduce inventory and improve fill rates.
  • Completes capacity analyses for headcount, equipment and space requirements.
  • Helps design, implement and maintain effective metrics with internal customers or suppliers to ensure unbridled supply is achieved.
  • Works with internal customer or suppliers to make fundamental changes to their manufacturing and/or business processes so that unbridled supply can be achieved.
  • Develops and coordinates ergonomic projects.
  • Works with Production and/or Functional Business Units to successfully prioritise and execute improvements, in line with business goals.
  • Uses Problem Solving and Process Improvement tools to achieve results in Production and/or Functional Business Unit areas.
  • Actively develops skills and knowledge on Lean Tools and Lean Business Process Improvement to maximise opportunities within the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor (Hons) degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Must have graduated within the last two years or in their final year of University.
  • Relevant work experience/ co-op programme completed.
  • Strong system skills and aptitude.
  • Good communication skills, teamwork abilities and initiative.
  • Proven ability to work well as part of a team & on own with minimum supervision.
  • Enthusiastic self-starter.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Eligible to work in Ireland.
