As a GE Appliances Financial Development Program Intern, you won’t just be observing—you’ll be driving impact. Over the course of 10 to 12 weeks, you’ll take on a project-oriented assignment that puts you at the heart of real business challenges. You’ll gain hands-on experience in finance, contribute to strategic initiatives, and see firsthand how finance shapes key business outcomes.

Along the way, you’ll sharpen your project management, business acumen, and communication skills, while building relationships with leaders and peers who will support your growth. This isn’t just a summer internship—it’s a launchpad. Outstanding performance could lead to placement in the GE Appliances Financial Development Program (FDP) after graduation, setting you on a path toward a rewarding career in finance.

How You'll Create Possibilities

  • Drive real impact: Take on a summer project that tackles an existing business challenge and delivers meaningful solutions for GE Appliances.
  • Build your network: Connect with senior Finance leaders and collaborate with current members of the Finance Development Program.
  • Gain hands-on experience: Work within an operational finance team to deliver insights and analysis that support key business decisions.
  • Contribute to results: Participate in monthly and quarterly close activities, gaining a true insider’s view of financial operations.
  • Enhance efficiency: Develop process documentation where needed to strengthen workflows and knowledge-sharing.
  • Sharpen your technical skills: Conduct general ledger research and variance analysis to uncover trends and drive accuracy.
  • Shape your future: Interview for a spot in the 2027 class of the GE Appliances Finance Development Program—a prestigious 3-year rotational program where you’ll explore multiple areas of the business, pursue your MBA, and fast-track your career.

The ideal candidate for this position has the following Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Independent Task Management:Demonstrates the capability to autonomously set objectives and prioritize tasks effectively to align with project or assignment goals.
  • Problem Solving Proficiency:Exhibits adeptness in resolving challenging problems that may not be highly complex, utilizing analytical skills and practical knowledge of the assignment area.
  • Influential Communication:Possesses the ability to influence others within the assignment area through clear and concise communication of facts, policies, and practices, fostering cooperation and alignment towards shared objectives.
  • Professional Productivity:Maintains a consistent track record of productivity and contribution, capable of delivering results while working independently under moderate supervision.
  • Continuous Learning and Development:Demonstrates a commitment to ongoing professional growth and development, actively seeking opportunities to expand skills and knowledge relevant to the assignment.

Educational and Experiential Background:

  • Must be full-time rising Senior(December 2026 or May 2027 graduation date)currently enrolled in 4 year-college or university program pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, economics, or related field.
  • Must hold and maintain a minimum cumulative 3.0 out of 4.0 overall grade point average.
  • Prior internship experience preferred.

Notes:

  • This is a full-time Internship, beginning in May ending in August.
  • Internship is carried out at GE Appliances Park, located in Louisville, KY.
  • Legal authorization to work in the country/region where the business is hiring is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now nor in the future, for this internship.
