What You'll Do
As a Platinion IT Architect intern, you will collaborate on interdisciplinary teams of designers, engineers, researchers, technical experts, and consultants to develop leading IT concepts and architectural solutions. In this role, you will apply your sound technical know-how, understanding of business contexts, and analytical skills to enable organizations to technically transform.

- Knowledgeable. They have a sophisticated understanding of IT Architecture, acting as a viable resource on teams as both a hands-on practitioner and subject matter expert.
You’re good at several of the below:
Solution, application, and enterprise architecture, including business capability mapping
Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, …), multi-cloud approaches, and cloud cost optimization (FinOps)
Data lifecycle, governance, quality, lineage, and modern data platforms (Data Lake, Warehouse, Lakehouse)
Integration and application modernization (APIs, microservices, event-driven patterns, legacy-to-cloud migration)
Data analytics, AI and GenAI architecture, and their role in business transformation
Restructuring IT processes and supporting IT functions during major transformations, including M&A
Evaluating and optimizing IT and software architecture, reviewing technical architecture/code
Designing feasibility studies, proofs of concept, and IT implementation
Process automation, DevOps/AIOps, awareness of cybersecurity and compliance
Analyzing complex IT landscapes and identifying opportunities for optimization and modernization
Communicating technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences and collaborating in agile teams
What You'll Bring
- Master's degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, business management, engineering management or system controls & engineering or a related field
- Graduating between December 2026 and June 2027
- Ideally 2+ years of professional experience in technology consulting or software engineering with a year in architecture discipline
- Superior technical knowledge, engineering rigor, and creative problem-solving
- Ability to explain complex technology topics to executives
- A growth and learning mindset and desire to keep up to date on the latest technology and tools
- Willingness to travel to work with clients and BCG teams. At times, this role involves significant travel to client sites. The amount of travel will depend on client needs and nature of project
- Technical expertise and knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and concepts such as cloud-native services, FinOps (cloud cost optimization), IaaS, PaaS and SaaS
- Awareness of data platforms and patterns (Data Lake, Lakehouse, Warehouse)
- Introductory knowledge of data ingestion pipelines, and data governance principles (quality, lineage, compliance)
- Interest in AI and GenAI applications in enterprise architecture
- Cloud native applications and cloud services architecture
- Omnichannel architecture
- Familiarity with modern integration approaches (APIs, event-driven, microservices)
- Structured and unstructured databases and usage patterns
- Programming paradigms and approaches (e.g. object-oriented)
- Process automation approaches and tooling (e.g. DevOps, AIOps)
- Experience in agile engineering and tooling support
- An agile mindset that moves past blockers and a vision to iteratively migrate to the next/modern set of architecture capabilities with a lens of business benefits/value

The first-year base compensation for this role is between $110,000 - $120,000 USD.
