Intern – IT Network Services

We are seeking a motivated and proactive Network Services Intern to join our global network services team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the Sonoco global network, working with both day-to-day network operations and exciting ongoing projects. This position is primarily remote, but there may be opportunities to work onsite in Hartsville, SC, to contribute to hands-on projects around the campus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Network Support & Analysis: Collaborate with IT staff to support the daily operations of the network, troubleshoot issues, and make proactive improvements to enhance network performance.

• Support Implementation:Assist in the deployment of new network solutions, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations and successful implementation of technology upgrades.

• Documentation:Maintain detailed records of changes, project progress, and technical documentation, ensuring that all files are up-to-date and easily accessible.

• Project Work: Contribute to current network projects, such as refreshing aging network hardware, implementing SD-WAN appliances, and rolling out new wireless SSID standards.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot network issues effectively.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Familiarity with networking technologies such as switches, access points, SD-WAN, and firewalls.
