The intent of this internship is to expose a qualified undergraduate candidate to a career path within the realm of adult learning and instructional design. The SentryU Instructional Design intern will learn about approaches to design innovative learning solutions for associates by creating meaningful learning experiences. The intern will work as a part of a project team to analyze learning needs and execute all phases of the project including design, development, implementation, and evaluation.
What You’ll Do
Duties of the SentryU Instructional Design intern will include providing input for the development of course content. With guidance, the intern will develop and enhance assigned features of learning experiences, ensure course materials are current and relevant to learning needs and leverage technology while gaining understanding of adult learning theories and approaches.
You will also:
Recognize how to apply adult learning principles in asset design
Write and proof draft learning content
Leverage and participate in peer reviews of developed content
Develop understanding of how to use software and systems to enhance the learner experience.
Assist the SentryU team with gathering and reporting of learning metrics
Support the implementation of the learning management system
Additionally Long-Term
Develop and curate curricula, learning campaigns, programs and paths.
Conceptualize, design and produce learning assets and solutions that incorporate strategies, interactive, and engaging techniques, assessments and visual elements to support business intiatives.
Develop expertise in learning software platforms and research emerging technologies.
Create measurement tools and capabilities that provide insight into the learning asset utilization and impact.
What it Takes
In order to be eligible for this elite opportunity you must meet the following criteria:
Pursuing an undergraduate degree emphasis in instructional design, adult learning, or related fields.
Obtain a minimum in-major GPA of 3.00
Graduating in Fall of 2026 or Spring of 2027
Ability to work in a team atmosphere
Experience with learning modalities is preferred.
Customer oriented
Organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to set priorities, adjust priorities, meet deadlines, and multi-task in a fast paced environment.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Sentry does not offer employment in this position to holders of F-1, J-1, and H-1 Visas for the purpose of obtaining practical experience
