Fidelity’s Fixed Income Division is one of the world’s leading fixed income managers with over $1.5 trillion in fixed income assets managed by a staff of more than 200 investment professionals. At Fidelity, we combine fundamental research on domestic and international debt issuers with macroeconomic and quantitative analysis to make investment decisions and help our clients achieve their financial goals. The Fixed Income Division is headquartered in Merrimack, New Hampshire.

Systematic Fixed Income Strategies is a systematic, research driven investment manager, offering a wide range of systematic strategies across Fixed Income. We use a data driven research process and model-based investment process.

Systematic Fixed Income Strategies Internship

Your internship with Systematic Fixed Income Strategies will be centered around a 10-week project, where you will collaborate closely with the research and portfolio management team for designing and developing active systematic investment strategies across global fixed income markets. You will be researching and back-testing new investment insights in a risk and transaction cost aware fashion across assets like Corporates/Munis/Sovereigns/Fixed Income Derivatives. You will also work closely with Portfolio Management to understand how systematic strategies are modeled and executed optimally across Fixed Income.

Education and Experience

  • Pursuing a master’s degree in a technical field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science, economics, or finance) with an expected graduation date in 2027 or 2028
  • Demonstrated experience/interest/skill investment research
  • Academic or intellectual interest in financial markets
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills, as well as the ability to clearly articulate findings
  • Field(s) of study must be in a technical area (STEM) and/or Finance/Economics with a strong programming background

    • Expertise and knowledge of MSRB and TRACE data
