Job Description

Join us as R&D Food Compliance Intern at our international headquarters in Utrecht, starting on 1st March 2027. In this internship, you will support the European Regulatory Affairs team in developing a structured approach to managing non-regulated claims and their supporting evidence. Your work will help ensure that product and packaging communications comply with the principles of EU Regulation 1169/2011, particularly the requirement not to mislead consumers.

Your key activities will be:

  1. Gather and organise data: collaborate with regulatory specialists and other stakeholders to identify the product and packaging claims currently used across our portfolio, together with their supporting substantiation. Consolidate this information into a structured repository that enables claims to be reused efficiently, including any conditions or limitations for their use.
  2. Develop a claims governance framework: help design a consistent process for the review, assessment and approval of non-regulated claims. Create practical guidance and supporting documentation to ensure a harmonised approach across teams.
  3. Support day-to-day regulatory activities: assist the team with product compliance assessments, ingredient declaration reviews, and packaging and labelling evaluations to ensure compliance with applicable legislation.

What's in it for you?

  • A monthly internship allowance of €525 (full-time)
  • Travel compensation if you don't have a free public transport card
  • Paid holidays for each internship term
  • Two weeks of remote working anywhere in Europe (EEA)
  • The chance to learn from the best Food Compliance professionals out there!
