As an Engineering Intern, you will work with the Honeywell Electronic Solutions Electronic Test (ES-ET) organization located in Mississauga, Ontario.
Here we execute Environmental Test to DO-160 on proprietary Honeywell Aerospace Products used by many aircraft manufacturers such as Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier, Gulfstream, etc.
This Internship will provide an opportunity to learn and understand actual Aerospace EMI test theory and practice based on real product certification.
Gaining experience working within the Qualification Lab there will be opportunities to work Electro Magnetic Emissions & Immunity (EMI), Indirect Lightning/Surge, Power Quality, Thermal & Vibration Testing etc. on Aircraft representative equipment and harnesses.
With guidance from a Lead Engineer, the successful candidate will review and analyze specific tests and provide measurement analysis, errors, and uncertainties. The outcome of this work will be a structured working document/spreadsheet containing Work Instruction & Measurement Uncertainty that can be used by the Qualification Lab and incorporated into final Test Reports.
This internship will start in May of 2026.
The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP security clearance.
You Must Have:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
We Value:
- Basic understanding of metrology, calibration principles and measurement uncertainty.
- Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) measurement.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance and Statistical Process Control.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols in a laboratory environment.
- Strong Command of English and excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) tools are required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting setup, installation and execution of various EMI test programs per test plans and procedures
- Using basic knowledge of engineering fundamental tools and lab equipment to complete defined project subtasks
- Creating verbal & written test reports / logbooks for the Engineering Publications group
- Reviewing test plans and/or instruction to determine support hardware requirements and identify potential problems prior to test.
- Providing technical support to the project and systems engineering test teams
- May interact with internal customers and team members to facilitate the completion of projects to customer specifications
- Committing to test schedules and providing excellent quality of work to meet projected costs through effective communication and cooperation
- Demonstrate initiative and execution to drive test process continuous improvements.
