Job Description:
Intermountain Children’s Health leads all aspects of children’s care across Intermountain. With hospital, ambulatory, and telehealth operations in 5 states, a robust academic affiliation with the University of Utah, and a thriving research enterprise, Children’s Health is a nation leading model for the future of pediatric care. Our focus is simultaneously on improving the social determinants of care and promoting better health for kids where they live and play while also delivering world class health care from primary care to cutting edge quaternary care. This internship will expose candidates to every aspect of a modern future-forward health system. Our interns have gone on to become fellows at the best institutions in the country, including Intermountain. Some interns have returned to Primary’s after gaining years of valuable experience elsewhere having learned that we are not only the best place to start a career but also the best place to continue and grow a career.This position is intended as an educational opportunity, but interns are also expected to participate in and contribute to improving hospital operations through the completion of a sponsored project and other assignments.
Children's Health provides services throughout the Intermountain system and is hiring interns based at the Primary Children's Salt Lake Campus, but assignments may be given at the Primary Children's Miller Campus at Lehi, Primary Children’s Behavioral Health Campus at Taylorsville, or Intermountain Nevada Children’s Hospital.
The 10-12-week full-time paid summer internship will begin the end of May to beginning of June 2026 (based upon student matriculation). The following materials must be received no later than November 30, 2025.

Job Essentials
1. Spends time with senior leaders, department directors and managers in order to understand their business environment and existing critical issues. Assists them with projects as needed.
2. Regularly attends Executive Council Meeting and attends Governing Board Meeting, Medical Executive Meeting, and Physician Committee Meeting as appropriate.
3. Selects and implements at least one project that allows for individual initiative and learning and is approved by the supervising Children’s Health Executive Sponsor.
4. Assists with general administrative duties as they arise.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

Completion of one year of a post-graduate degree program (preferably in Business, Public Health, or Health Services Administration).
Demonstrated leadership ability and skills in critical thinking, strategic planning, analysis and systems thinking

Demonstrated proficiency with business computer applications (i.e spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, databases)
- and -
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Preference given to students who are in the middle of their first and second year of their Master's program
