Position Overview
The Ops Specialist Intern will assist the Ops Label & Kit Design team in a variety of functions including the generation and maintenance of material label templates, label specifications, and part numbers. This position is intended to be a full-time opportunity for an undergraduate to obtain experience in the Label & Kit design field while contributing towards establishing harmonization of design transfer and new product implementation, including parts and documents within an electronic quality systems management. Gain hands-on experience while learning the fundamentals to the process of creating and implementing a medical device within the electronic quality management system.
Gain familiarity with regulatory and quality requirements when generating customer-facing labeling. Become a strong team-player by working with multiple groups during intradepartmental collaboration. Develop soft skills essential for employee growth towards a successful career. Acquire skills in a Material Management system, such as SAP.
Essential Duties
- Include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist in generating and revising label templates and specifications.
- Assist in generating and revising material Part Numbers.
- Assist with continuous improvement projects and support other area needs dependent on demand.
- Assist in generating Change orders and Change requests, as well as other quality documentation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate work with other teams.
- Ability to follow written procedures with direction.
- May support production activities including but not limited to: Reagent kit packaging and label application.
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to cooperate with coworkers within an organized team environment or work alone with or without supervision.
- Ability to manage time effectively to complete work in expected time frames.
- Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
- Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
- Support and comply with the company’s safety and environmental procedures.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Ability and means to travel between Madison locations.
Physical requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand, twist, pinch up to 90% of a working day, as needed.
- Ability to work seated for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
- Ability to work in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
- Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Enrollment towards a Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field, minimally at Sophomore college-level coursework.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
Technical skills:
- Basic computer skills to include internet navigation, email usage, and word processing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preference given to candidate with a record of outstanding academic achievement (3.5+ GPA).

Salary Range:
