As an Infrastructure Team Intern at Gelber, you will have a real opportunity to have a long-term career in Information Technology at a successful trading firm. You will work side by side with other talented individuals that will provide education and training to kickstart your career in IT. This role is for someone who flourishes in a fast-paced environment, has a strong work ethic, clear communication, and has a strong interest in growing their career within Infrastructure. This position will report directly to our Infrastructure team manager who reports directly to the Chief Information Officer.
This is an in-person internship at our Chicago office – no remote.
What you’ll do:
- Part-time internship (up to 20 hours per week) with potential for full-time employment upon graduation
- Opportunity to work up to 30 hours per week during the school year/summer – minimum 15 hours per week expected
- Set up desktops, image computers, install software, configure printers, and perform basic PC troubleshooting
- Provide systems administration support for Office 365
- Learn from subject matter experts in Networking, Security, Linux, and Servers
- Collaborate with both the Infrastructure team and the broader Trading office
What you’ll need:
- Senior undergraduate student on track to graduate in 2026
- Pursuing a degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Strong interest in computers and information technology
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong critical thinking skills and a sense of urgency in providing support
- Ability to lift or move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
