What you'll be doing

CIBC’s Enterprise Advanced Analytics and AI team is hiring an AI Scientist. The Enterprise Advanced Analytics team is a central hub of data science expertise within CIBC and is leading the way in applying the best practices in predictive science, machine learning, leveraging massive datasets and the latest in big data technology platforms. In this role, you will work with real world structured and unstructured datasets to produce end-to-end solutions, taking models from experiment to deployment. We collaborate with the most exciting new companies in the space of AI and machine learning and engage in teamwork with leading academic researchers to promote the exchange of ideas and enrich our talent.

How you'll succeed

  • Coding Expertise: You will schema back-end development and organization of data onto a database, UX design front end to back end solutioning, manage single sign on capabilities, perform and coordinate complex application programming activities, design the application's technical infrastructure using specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches, lead the design and development of cost-effective and innovative solutions and lead code-review sessions with the wider team to ensure the project is on track to meet objectives.

  • MLOps: You will utilize your Python programming skills to refactor experimental notebooks into production grade Python modules using functional programming. You will assist with tasks related to the deployment of machine learning models and the maintenance of internal Python libraries  

  • Champion Best Practices: You will adhere to the team’s code-style, work-flow patterns and project structure standards. You will participate in writing great documentation, practicing test-driven-development and properly annotating your code.

Who you are

  • You have strong Tech Skills: You demonstrate good programming skills and have knowledge of SQL API web development. You have knowledge of languages: HTML, JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS/Sass, ES6, Python. Knowledge of Front-end apps like Angular, Bootstrap, React, Vue and Back-end - Node.js, Express.js, Django. Knowledge of Databases: SQL, Mongo, Cosmosand  Operating Systems: Linux, Windows. Knowledge of other technologies like Git, Docker, JSON, REST APIs, RxJS/Redux, jQuery, Azure and Machine Learning algorithms understanding is asset.
