Department Overview

Under the direct supervision of School of Public Health leadership, the Academic Affairs & Assessment Support Graduate Student Worker provides administrative support for Academic Affairs operations and related assessment, accreditation, and continuous improvement activities. Similar to an Office Clerk or Administrative Specialist, this position supports academic program administration through project coordination, record maintenance, survey administration, data entry, report preparation, communication support, and routine operational activities.

The Graduate Student Worker assists in maintaining academic and assessment documentation, tracking project timelines and reporting requirements, supporting faculty and program communications, managing contact databases and listservs, and preparing materials for meetings, reports, and presentations. The position also supports recurring Academic Affairs processes including syllabus collection, textbook reporting, grader assignment tracking, and other academic operations activities that support program administration and compliance requirements. Through these activities, the position supports effective academic administration and institutional effectiveness efforts while gaining practical experience in higher education operations, assessment, accreditation, and data management.

Function/Duties of Position

  • Support administration of School of Public Health academic operations processes, including syllabus collection, textbook reporting, grader assignment tracking, faculty communications, and maintenance of related records and documentation.
  • Support administration of student, alumni, faculty, and stakeholder surveys, including survey distribution, response tracking, contact list management, and maintenance of survey documentation.
  • Maintain assessment, survey, academic operations, and contact databases through data entry, quality assurance, record updates, and file management activities.
  • Assist with preparation of reports, presentations, tables, charts, dashboards, and other materials that support assessment, accreditation, academic planning, and decision making.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for meetings, events, accreditation activities, faculty committees, information sessions, and special projects across Academic Affairs and Assessment & Evaluation.

Required Qualifications

  • Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in Graduate Program (minimum 4.5 credit hours)

  • 1 year of work in an office setting, or a Bachelor’s Degree

  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook

  • Basic proficiency with Google Workspace, including Forms and Gmail

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse audiences, both in writing and in person

  • Commitment to the School of Public Health’s mission to create an equitable, antiracist institution

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to perform the job duties with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using survey tools such as Qualtrics or Google Forms
