We are seeking an exceptional Discovery/Flow Cytometry Co-op to join our team. This team member will learn the operation and maintenance of multiple flow cytometry instruments, while participating in flow cytometry-based experiment design and assay optimization. The position will report to an Associate Director in the Discovery group. An ideal candidate will possess strong oral and written communication, demonstrate excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills, and be adept at problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day maintenance and operations of the flow cytometry laboratory and instrumentation, including daily instrument cleaning and maintenance, managing inventory, and maintaining clear communications with users.
- Work with other team members to design and optimize flow-cytometry assays and provide user support with sample preparation and analysis.
- Maintain an electronic notebook record of performed studies and communicate scientific findings through discussions and presentations.
- Solve technical problems in a logical and rationale manner.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate or graduate student in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, bioengineering or a related field.
- Excited and motivated to explore opportunities in the biotech field and gain experience in flow cytometry.
- Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple parallel laboratory activities with highly effective time management.
- Ideal candidate will contribute to a positive and exciting work environment, contributing to a strong, entrepreneurial, and creative culture.
- Ideal candidate will have previous exposure to flow cytometry in theory or hands on, knowledge of FlowJo or GraphPad is a plus.
- Detail oriented and self-motivated, willingness to take on new challenges.
