Job Description

The Los Angeles Operational Excellence team is responsible for improving efficiency, quality, and compliance across all manufacturing processes and support functions.  This is achieved by leveraging data and established methodologies to identify and eliminate waste, reduce costs, and ensure a culture of continuous improvement.

The Operational Excellence - Process Optimization Intern will work with cross functional teams (manufacturing, engineering, safety, etc) to identify areas of opportunity to optimize efficiencies within the manufacturing process thus improving product supply to patients. In addition, our team member will have a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in a field that is both scientifically advanced and deeply focused on patient impact.  

Duties may include the following, under the manager's supervision

  • Execute studies which focus on improving plasma yield performance
  • Assess performance/opportunities related to operational readiness of new robotic manufacturing suite
  • Lead workshops designed to optimize efficiency of manufacturing process
  • Manage improvement project and drive collaboration cross functionally

Internship Development Opportunities:

Interns will learn:

  • The intern will collaborate closely with subject matter experts across multiple functions and understand how the groups collaborate to enable support of patient supply
  • Gain business excellence experience across multiple techniques
  • A basic understanding of how to implement efficiency improvements which support patient supply while helping to drive the business forward

Job Requirements:

  • A foundational knowledge of engineering or general science
  • This position requires full-time commitment, necessitating five days of on-site work at the Los Angeles site
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a collaborative team member.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment which may require standard gowning procedures

Internship Eligibility

  • Mustbe authorized towork in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship 
  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2026or later 
  • The internship program is 10-12 weeksdepending on the two start dates (May 26th-August 14th or June 15th- August 21st)
  • The intern must be able to commit to one of thesetime frames
  • Able to work full time40 hoursa week during internship dates  
  • Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$21.00 - $46.00

The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include:
