Join onsemi team at the forefront of next-generation semiconductor technology! As an intern, you will play a key role in evaluating the electrical behavior of early-generation Silicon Carbide (SiC) device samples—critical components in high-efficiency power systems. Hands on experience, operating manual and automated test procedures on package levels, using advanced test systems. You will also be trained to interpret test results and communicate your findings through clear, structured reports to the international SiC design team.

  • Enrolled at FH/University degree in Electrical Engineering, Material Science or related field.
  • Strong interest or initial experience in power electronics.
  • Foundational knowledge of power semiconductor devices (e.g., MOSFETs, IGBTs, Diodes).
  • Practical skills in PCB assembly, test circuit setup, and operation of lab equipment (power supplies, probes, oscilloscopes).
  • Programing skills, preferably in Python.
  • Excellent knowledge in English; German is a plus.
  • Perform hands-on testing of semiconductor devices—primarily SiC—in a laboratory environment.
    • Conduct static measurements (e.g., Vth, RDS(on), Vf) using power device curve tracers.
    • Execute dynamic and ruggedness tests to evaluate switching behavior and reliability.
  • Analyze and compare test results, compile technical reports, and present findings to the design team.
  • Collaborate with the characterization team to define and enhance advanced test setups.
  • Expand your knowledge in power electronics and semiconductor physics through practical experience.
  • Gain hands-on skills in measurement equipment operation, test setup construction, and basic mechanical tasks.
