What you'll be doing 

As a UX Designer Co-op you will be working with the team designing the user experience for Investor’s Edge self-directed investing. You will be working with the team responsible for creating intuitive, engaging digital experiences for our clients on both desktop and mobile, from concept through to launch. You will be learning about and taking part in an iterative, user-centered design process, including how to establish a deep understanding of user needs, design detailed wireframes and user flows, and communicate solutions clearly in presentations and documentation.

  • You must be currently enrolled in post-secondary education and returning to full-time studies to be eligible. However, you do not need to be in a registered Co-Op program to be considered for a role.

How you'll succeed 

  • Design simple and elegant solutions – Design the user experience from concept, design implementation to testing across multiple platforms and user groups, in collaboration with our UX team.  
  • Communicate and present design solutions – Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Deliver design documentation and presentations to the project team, development staff and senior leaders for implementation. 
  • Effective teamwork & collaboration: Work closely with cross-disciplinary project teams including business stakeholders, product managers, project managers, business analysts, and technology. Follow a collaborative, iterative design process with our UX team (UI design, content strategy, UX research and strategy). 
  • Time management - Manage multiple concurrent objectives, project, groups and activities, while prioritizing and allocating time effectively.  
  • Requirements analysis & research – Develop a deep understanding of the user needs in partnership with the Product team, data analytics, market and user research working closely with our research and strategy teams. Conduct competitive analysis to understand the landscape.  

Who you are 

  • You are enrolled in a post-secondary program in Human-Computer Interaction, Engineering, Psychology, Cognitive Science, UX Design, Interaction Design, or a related field.  
  • You have experience in UX design. You have a proven track record of creating simple, elegant solutions for complex design problems with experience designing and prototyping in Figma, and knowledge of WCAG Accessibility Guidelines and how to design to meet these standards.  
  • You're digitally savvy. You seek out innovative solutions and embrace evolving technologies. You can easily adapt to new tools and trends. 
  • You're driven by collective success. You know that collaboration can transform a good idea into a great one. You understand the power of an inclusive team that enjoys working together to bring a shared vision to life.
