This role is onsite with a full-time schedule of 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday.
RESPONSIBILITY:
As an Engineering Co-op, you will be a member of the Product Development/Design Engineering team, where your work will be focused on design and development work associated with our global screening solutions products. You will also have the opportunity to support/impact product development and design innovation projects under supervision of Product Development Manager.
Schedule: This role is ONSITE Full time. 8a-5p Monday to Friday.
Travel -Less than 10% overnight travel is required.
To be successful in this role, you must have the ability to articulate design issues/recommendations in quantitative terms, both verbally and in written documentation, the ability to drive people/projects (internally and externally) for quality, design and schedule, and have a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals, analytical methods and lean manufacturing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Using SolidWorks, perform engineering design work utilizing sound engineering judgement and principles including analytical studies, computer analysis and mechanical testing.
Analyze and provide design recommendations in conjunction with product development and design projects with consideration given to parameters, manufacturability, sourcing and cost.
Perform, direct, and/or check drafting work associated with product development projects as required.
Develop functional design specifications and prepare engineering documentation associated with design and development work in accordance with our engineering procedures and practices.
Perform other assignments or duties appropriate to the overall responsibility of the position of an Engineering Co-op.

Education
Currently enrolled as a Sophomore level or above in an accredited 4-year engineering degree program, and have completed 2 or more years of relevant coursework in mechanical/mechatronics engineering, manufacturing engineering, product development/design engineering, or other related engineering disciplines.
Experience
Intermediate computer skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
have CAD experience - whether it is a class or self-taught. Typically 1st year co-op students have some experience with some CAD package at this point.
Desirable/Preferred
Experience with Database Software, ERP
Design for production assembly / manufacturing
Experience with motion control
Experience with rotating mechanisms
Fabrication knowledge/experience
Experience with Solidworks
CAD design experience using both 2D and 3D applications
