Are you a first- or second-year student looking to grow professionally while contributing to meaningful work? UVA Lifetime Learning in the Office of Engagement is seeking a motivated Federal Work-Study student to join our team as a Lifetime Learning Intern.
What You'll Do:
• Research UVA faculty and assist with data entry
• Create graphics and content for social media
• Learn to post events on the UVA online calendar and community calendars
• Occasionally help set up venues and check in attendees at in-person events
• Transport supplies and attend meetings on Grounds (must have own vehicle)

Federal Work-Study Eligible
Must be enrolled with 12 credits or more during a fall/spring semester.
Start and End Date: August 26, 2025 - May 8, 2026
Hours: 4-8 hours per week (Some weeks are busier than others.)
Remote and 5 In-Person Saturday Mornings In The Fall
Must have own vehicle to transport event supplies.
Wage Rate or Range: $19.00
The Lifetime Learning program within the Office of Engagement offers in-person and virtual faculty lectures, hosts extended and one-day learning seminars, maintains a faculty blog, and produces faculty podcasts and vodcasts for alumni, friends, and families of the University.
Job Purpose: Assist in marketing, create social media posts, do data entry, and conduct research on UVA topics and faculty. Work remotely and staff occasional on-Grounds events.
Qualifications: The desired employee will have good writing and grammar skills, data entry skills, experience with social media, and knowledge of computer programs (i.e., Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with Canva is a plus. Must have own transportation to meetings at 2420 Old Ivy Road and to pack supply bins for events held on Grounds, such as Alumni Hall and Necomb Hall. Must be Federal Work-Study eligible. Must be enrolled with 12 credits or more during a fall/spring semester.
Responsibilities and Duties: researching information about potential speakers, posting events on alumni and community calendars, creating graphics and posts for Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, checking in registrants at events, and data entry.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
