The Donaldson internship program provides innovative students with meaningful, hands-on experience in a collaborative industry environment. Through real-world projects, mentorship, and development opportunities, we aim to support career growth and build a talent pipeline aligned with our values and goals. Internships take place at various locations throughout the United States, during an 10-12-week period.

The Engineering Intern in Cresco, IA would perform a role similar to that of a manufacturing or operational engineer, assisting site leadership and engineering with project work and analysis.

Role Responsibilities:

Assists with engineering projects through all phases.
Investigate improvements for current production methods, standards, tooling, procedures, equipment, and plant layout as a basis for improving safety and quality, increasing production, and reducing cost.
Contributes to cost reduction and quality improvement projects.

Learning and utilizing bottleneck analysis (BNA) to determine potential equipment efficiency improvements and associated cost reductions.
Analyzing production departments for downtime. Planning and execution of projects stemming from this analysis.

Minimum Qualifications:

Currently enrolled undergraduate in an accredited degree program pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Experience in Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to effectively communicate with employees, customers, and vendors with diverse backgrounds and skill sets.
Ability to numerically analyze data/apply statistics to support hypotheses or analyze results of studies.
Strong prioritization and problem-solving abilities.
Applied hands-on experience with engineering practices, processes and protocols.
Minimum 3.0 out of a 4.0 cumulative GPA.
