This opportunity is ideal for individuals interested in contributing to our team as an eFX Developer Co-Op within State Street’s Global Technology Services organization. Our technology function, Global Technology Services (GTS), is vital to State Street and is the key enabler for our business to deliver data and insights to our clients. What You Will Do:

The eFX platform, also known as Mach, is a realtime algorithmic trading platform that provides streaming prices to clients, accepts trade executions from clients and manages the automated hedging of the risk generated. It is a globally distributed system currently deployed into data centers in London, New York and Tokyo. 

In this role, you will perform the following day-to-day activities:   

  • Use your software engineering, technical skill, and reasoning abilities 

  • Develop high volume transactional systems 

  • Work in coordination with other teams, both business and technical 

  • Work closely with business users and Development, Quality Assurance, and Infrastructure teams 

  • Design highly available distributed systems by leveraging your experience in Java programming and design 

  • Receive and analyze requirements and propose suitable solutions that adhere to the team's methodology 

  • Deliver successfully within an Agile environment as well as demonstrate the flexibility and adaptability to operate successfully in such an environment

  • Communicate with all parties involved including senior management, developers, architects, and end users, who may be based in different locations and time zones 

  • Take ownership of small to medium projects and run them from inception to completion

Education and Preferred Qualifications:   

Candidates should be:   

  • Final-year undergraduate or graduate students pursuing degrees in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical disciplines who are interested in converting to a full-time role post-graduation  

  • Enthusiastic about building a long-term career in a dynamic, technology-driven organization  

  • Effective communicators with the ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment  

  • Open to feedback and committed to continuous learning and improvement

Salary Range:

$41,600 - $65,000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
