OVERVIEW:
At DICK’S Sporting Goods, interns will have the opportunity to work with and learn from the leaders of a growing Fortune 400 company. DICK’S Sporting Goods is returning to campus this year; to recruit, train and develop top collegiate talent into well-rounded merchants.
During the 11-week summer experience, interns will take on meaningful work assignments and make tangible contributions to the organization’s success. This structured and well-organized program provides on-the-job training, classroom instruction, cross-functional departmental exposure, and an end-of-program project presentation.
The goal of a Store Experience and Design (Visual Merchandising) Associate Intern is to translate DICK’S Sporting Goods product strategy and brand voice into compelling in-store visual experiences for our athletes. You will act as the liaison between the merchandising and field organizations by translating the Buyer's strategic vision into planograms that drive sales and enhance the athlete experience. You will get the opportunity to assess space productivity and see an in-store signage package come to life, allowing for better product storytelling. In addition, you will bring this vision to life through actively participating in store sets in a local DSG store. Duties include:
Utilize Buyers initial assortment plans to create planograms to assist stores in setting new and existing product offerings
Assist in solving store specific planogram and merchandising issues within established timeframes
Coordinate and conduct physical setup of initial product through final product sections and floor layouts in the lab or store environment
Assist in the planning and direction of in-store signage and project initiatives through coordination with internal and external partners and vendors.
