Electrical Engineering Intern — Spring or Summer 2026

Location: Houston, TX (onsite)
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate

We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for Spring or Summer 2026 to join our team in Houston, TX and contribute to the development of cutting-edge humanoid robotic systems. In this role, you will work closely with our mechanical and electrical engineering teams on real, production-impacting projects that move our robot development forward.

What You’ll Work On

PCBA Design & Validation

  • Support the design, development, and testing of custom electronics used in humanoid robot power, communication, and actuation systems.

Cabling & System Integration

  • Assist with cabling design, prototyping, grounding, bonding, and overall electrical system layout.

Embedded Systems Development

  • Contribute to writing, testing, and validating embedded software for custom electronic hardware.

Engineering Documentation

  • Prepare technical documentation, schematics, test reports, and design specifications to support engineering workflows.

What You’ll Learn

  • Hands-on experience building humanoid robotics systems from concept through integration.

  • Real-world application of core electrical engineering fundamentals in advanced robotics.

  • Exposure to multidisciplinary development across mechanical, electrical, embedded, and systems engineering teams.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field.

  • Strong interest in robotics, automation, or electromechanical systems.

  • Experience with electrical CAD tools (ideally KiCAD), prototyping, and hands-on electrical/mechanical building through coursework, personal projects, or student competitions.

  • Familiarity with embedded software development (C, C++, Python) and circuit simulation tools such as LTSpice.

  • Strong work ethic and comfort working hands-on with tools, equipment, and test setups.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate within fast-paced engineering teams.

  • Self-driven mindset with curiosity, initiative, and the ability to ask thoughtful questions.

Program Details

  • This internship is available for:

    • Spring 2026 (January - May 2026) OR

    • Summer 2026 (May - August 2026).
