THE ROLE:
We are seeking a motivated Software Systems Intern to join our Automotive Systems Engineering team. This role offers hands-on experience in the design, integration, and validation of software systems that enable advanced vehicle features. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams to help define requirements, analyze system interactions, and support the development of robust, safe, and scalable software architectures for next-generation vehicles.
YOUR IMPACT:
As anAutomotive Software Systems Engineering Intern your assignments may include:
Assist in the development and documentation of software system requirements, ensuring alignment with vehicle-level functions and features.
Support software architecture design activities, including interface definitions and data flows between embedded controllers, displays, and external systems.
Contribute to the integration and validation of software across multiple ECUs and domains (powertrain, body, infotainment, safety, connectivity).
Work with C/C++ and/or model-based tools (MATLAB/Simulink) for prototyping and system validation.
Support AUTOSAR-based system configurations and interface integration.
Assist in analyzing and resolving software and system-level issues discovered during simulation, bench testing, or in-vehicle testing.
Participate in system safety and cybersecurity assessments (ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434) where applicable.
Document findings, test results, and provide recommendations for system improvements.
Collaborate with hardware, software, and validation engineers to ensure seamless system performance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or related technical field.
Willing to travel or relocate to Oshkosh, WI for the duration of the summer 2026 internship. Summer housing is available to interns whose permanent address is greater than 50 miles from their work location.
Pay Range:
$18.00 - $37.00The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
