The Role

The Analytical Development team is responsible for developing analytical methods to support cell line, upstream, and downstream development and transferring them to the QC department. The team is also responsible for characterizing primary and high order structures of manufactured recombinant proteins/monoclonal antibodies. 

As an Analytical Development Intern, you will be assisting in support activities that may include documentation, software and/or lab overview support. Interns will be introduced to and expected to gain proficiency with analytical development activities. Overall, a successful intern will learn core processes that support analytical development activities and develop the ability to create and/or contribute to database and process management to be able to provide an overview of the process(es) worked on including key elements and data uses. 

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Learn and contribute to analytical development database(s), including data entry, data compilation, organization and/or automation efficiencies
  • Maintains organization and 5S standards in the development labs as needed
  • Executes and documents 5S audits of laboratory space and update areas as needed or requested
  • General lab cleaning and lab support as needed
  • Actively participates in team meetings
  • Prepares buffers as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

The Candidate

In order to be eligible for the Analytical Development Internship at Catalent, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
  • Must be an undergraduate/graduate student in Biology, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field of study
  • Eligible to legally work in the United States
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) for a 10-12-week period over the summer
  • Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-15 pounds
