Role Description
We are seeking a motivated Data Science & AI Security Co-op/Intern to join our software engineering and product team. This role provides hands-on experience applying data science and artificial intelligence to evaluate security events, enhance data pipelines, and communicate findings. The ideal candidate is curious, analytical, and enthusiastic about leveraging technology to improve security outcomes.

Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Analyze Security Events
Collect, analyze, and interpret large sets of security-related data to identify trends, anomalies, and patterns.
Assess and validate detected security incidents using statistical and machine learning techniques.
Improve Data Sources
Evaluate the quality and completeness of current security data sources; recommend and help execute improvements to data collection and enrichment processes.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to enhance data pipelines and integrate new telemetry or threat signals.
Generate Insights & Reports
Produce clear, actionable reports summarizing analyzed data, security event trends, and recommendations for stakeholders.
Visualize findings effectively using data visualization tools and build dashboards as needed.
Present key observations and contribute to organizational security posture assessments.
Support AI-driven Security Solutions
Participate in the development and validation of AI/machine learning models for threat detection, event correlation, and security automation.
Assist in documenting model development, evaluation processes, and outcomes to support transparency and governance.
Collaboration and Learning
Engage with cross-functional teams (security, engineering, operations) to refine requirements and validate findings.
Attend meetings and trainings to expand knowledge of cybersecurity, data science methodologies, and AI.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
PreferredSkills
Foundational knowledge of statistics, data analysis, and machine learning.
Programming experience with Python (libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn), SQL, Databricks, and JavaScript or shell scripting.
Familiarity with cybersecurity fundamentals, such as security events, threats, or incident response workflows.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Eagerness to learn new tools, frameworks, and security concepts.
Preferred Majors: Data Science, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field
Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university
Rising Junior or Rising Senior only (must have a graduation date between Winter 2026- Spring 2028)
Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2026 semester before graduating)
Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program starting June 1, 2026, through August 14, 2026
Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering)

Base Pay: $32.00Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
