About the Role & Program

The Assistant Design Intern will support the Accessories teams in the development of specific projects and manage a small single category when needed, and fully support with OPA. Accessories categories include supporting bags, backpacks, footwear, headwear, hosiery, jewelry, timing, and vision teams to ensure the highest quality, consumer-focused, trend-right product lines across licensing, to create innovative product that captures the spirit and storytelling of our beloved characters.

The Intern will report to the Senior Manager, Product Design

This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in Glendale, California, from January 2026 through June 2026

What You Will Do

  • Develop and design product mock-ups, gather images and layout creative presentations, and trend point of view boards.
  • Collaborate with Sr. Managers and Design managers to design, approve, and review products and packaging while collaborating on feedback.
  • Create templates for design point of view boards for creative rollouts.
  • Pull cross-category product trends for Accessories.
  • Assist in pulling art direction and assets for collaborations.
  • Monitor competitors, product innovation, and market dynamics.
  • Research Initial seasonal trends by category.
  • Sample management and organization.
  • Multi-task and prioritize multiple design projects within the deadline.
  • Assist with a large volume of packaging approvals.
  • Support teams with OPA - Online Product Approvals system.

Please Apply If You Have

  • Knowledge in softlines categories (e.g., raw materials, silver smithing, plastic, textiles, print, pattern, graphic composition, manufacturing)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong product design skills (e.g., 3D product design, technical design, sketching, creative application and manipulation of art, final mechanical art, fabric and trim identification, CAD sketches)
  • Strong computer software skills are a must (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Keynote, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Education

  • Senior year preferred
  • Pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Product Design with an emphasis on products related to Bags, Backpacks, Footwear, Headwear, Hosiery, Jewelry, Timing, and Vision

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all the requirements below

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, pursuing a degree, taking at least one class at the time of application, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney Internship or Disney College Program.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization.

Additional Information

  • The approximate dates of this internship are January 2026 through June 2026.
  • Fully available from Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Pacific Time Zone for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week.
  • Be aligned with The Disney Look appearance guidelines.
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Glendale, California, area.
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work.
