Position Overview

This position is office based in Madison, WI at our office facility located at 1 Exact Lane.

**This is a paid internship for the Summer of 2026.**

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Preventative Maintenance & Operating Costs
    • Analyze and identify monthly preventative maintenance costs by facility.
    • Assess average monthly operating costs for each site.
  • Budgetary Tools & Forecasting
    • Assist in creating an enhanced budgetary tool to enable real-time forecasting and improved financial visibility.
    • Support the integration of operational data into reporting dashboards.
  • Systems & Reporting
    • Leverage the CMMS tool to identify and track facility work requirements throughout the year.
    • Utilize SAP and Coupa to gather and validate cost data.
    • Develop reports and dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, and Excel to present findings and recommendations.

  • Assist Facility Maintenance team in onboarding and validating work to be completed by internal staff and contractors.
  • Ability to work in team setting toward meeting project timelines and goals.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present a final product at the end of the internship.

  • Ability to work overtime, as needed.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to work on a computer and phone simultaneously.
  • Ability to use a telephone through a headset.
  • Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
  • May be exposed to hazardous materials, tissue specimens, and instruments with moving parts, lasers, heating and freezing elements, and high-speed centrifugation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Business Analytics, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to leverage Power BI, Excel, SharePoint, One Note, to collaborate and communicate with other team members.
  • Mastery of computer skills to include internet navigation and email usage.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong technical skills with mastery in Power BI, SAP, Excel, and Tableau.
  • Familiarity with a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Experience working with large data sets and ability to synthesize insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
