Role Focus:

  • Develop deeper insights into the dynamics of group life/health insurance pricing in a reinsurance context
  • Data and analytical support to risk assessment and pricing of group life/health reinsurance

Key Activities:

  • Review data and clarify any queries with the client to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Maintain track of quotes and ensure timely communication to all stakeholders
  • Prepare quotes using standard pricing tools and processes
  • Prepare/assist with treaty documentation process as required
  • Collaborate with business development team to understand clearly the client expectations and deliver quotes accordingly
  • Desktop research to support development of pricing assumption where required
  • Ad-hoc data and analytical support to internal admin, UW and claim functions
  • Assist with user testing of pricing tools
  • Assist with preparing data for internal MIS/reporting purposes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in Actuarial science or Mathematics or Statistics or Economics or Finance
  • Preferably making good progress with professional actuarial examinations
  • Prior experience in data analytics/pricing role in an insurance/reinsurance setup will be a plus
  • Intermediate to Advanced command of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Access
  • Basic knowledge of VBA
  • Exposure to data analytical tools such as SQL and any actuarial pricing models will be a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to work in a team and take a proactive role to improve efficiency
