At Haleon, we design and develop Over The Counter products and technologies which meet consumers needs and help them to lead healthier lives.  The Richmond site is a enter of R&D excellence for Haleon where we develop new products for iconic global brands including Advil, Centrum, Theraflu and Voltaren.

The Respiratory Health R&D team is a global team responsible for delivering innovations to consumers in more that 80 countries.  We leverage the power of teamwork, curiosity, scientific excellence, and consumer understanding to deliver superior solution to everyday problems.

As an intern with the Respiratory Health R&D team, you will have an opportunity to work with one of the market leaders in pain relief and collaborate with experts across the global organization.  You will also have the opportunity to put your knowledge of medicinal formulations and processing to use solving real world problems. 

What will your individual contribution at Haleon be?

  • Work in a compliant manner to ensure the safety of yourself, others, and the protection of the environment
  • Demonstrate excellence in the application and communication of statistical science in new product development
  • Under the supervision of a senior staff, apply standard data science methods to solve analytical questions, including collecting data, reviewing data, and apply quantitative data science methods to predict product performance
  • With other members of the team, optimize medical devices and oral medicinal products to meet the desired product characteristics and to simplify the manufacturing process
  • With other members of the team, identify critical manufacturing process parameters and define the process conditions to optimize the manufacturing process.
  • With the Process Scale-Up team use your findings to design experiments to scale up the manufacturing process
  • Draw conclusions from your observations and analysis of results and present to the team

To enable you to perform in this early talent opportunity:

Basic Requirements:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science, or related fields. 
  • Able to work full time (35-40 hours/week) at our Richmond facility throughout the 12-months internship.
  • Experience in scientific data management and interpretation.
  • Knowledge of oral medicinal formulation techniques (solids and liquids)
  • Knowledge of oral medicinal products manufacturing processes (solids and liquids)

Expected Start Date: January 2026

Starting Hourly Rate: $24.50
