The Trust, Custom Content from The Wall Street Journal, is an award-winning, full-service branded content studio. Our creative team includes Art Directors, Videographers, Producers, Developers, Editors, Strategists, and other specialists dedicated to crafting compelling content.
In collaboration with advertising partners across industries—from technology to automotive—we produce content reflective of the integrity and quality of our newsrooms. The Trust work spans multiple formats, including reported articles, immersive digital experiences, short- and long-form video, high-impact digital ads, print campaigns, and event activations.
Our portfolio includes The Wall Street Journal, WSJ. Magazine, MarketWatch,Barron’s, and more.
About the Role
The Trust Design Intern supports designers and creatives across the team in producing visually compelling design materials for digital, print, social, and event platforms, contributing to both internal marketing initiatives and client projects. This role offers hands-on experience and exposure to the inner workings of our in-house design studio.
This role is hybrid, based in our New York City office.
You Will
Support and shadow Art Directors on day-to-day projects and initiatives
Assist in developing design assets, from presentations to invitations, for internal requests and client work.
Contribute to layout, image sourcing, and file preparation for the design team
Help adapt creative concepts across social, web, and event platforms
Participate in client campaign brainstorms, offering fresh ideas and design perspectives
You Have
Completed at least two years toward a Bachelor’s degree (BA/BFA) in graphic, digital, visual, or brand design.
BY NEXT SUMMER, YOU WILL BE: either a rising junior or rising senior in your undergrad program.
Passion for color, typography, graphic design, and web design.
Detail-oriented and highly motivated; able to work both independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Strong organizational, time management, communication, and multitasking skills.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud applications (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) with experience in Figma.
Familiar with Google Workspace (e.g., Slides, Docs) and Microsoft Office (e.g., PowerPoint, Word).
Experience in video/motion design (e.g., After Effects, Premiere) or web development (e.g., CSS, HTML, WordPress) is a plus.
Salary: $25.00/hour
