Job Summary
NiSource, the parent company of Columbia Gas of Ohio, is currently seeking Summer Interns for its Finance, Accounting and Quality Control and Performance Management Departments. This position follows a hybrid schedule, requiring on-site presence three days per week and remote work two days per week.
 

Essential Functions

  • Successful applicants will become integral members of the department, while learning within a team environment, completing meaningful tasks and collaborating with managers on important projects. These positions will be a great opportunity for the candidate desiring to launch their career in Finance-related fields. Successful applicants will build professional relationships with other interns and all levels of NiSource personnel while participating in rewarding professional development exercises and fun, team-building activities. Interns will obtain a broad overview of NiSource's operations and current events in the utilities industry.

Internal Audit

  • The intern will be directly involved in the execution and documentation of audit testing activities over operational, financial and technology business processes and controls, including Sarbanes-Oxley direct assistance and findings follow-up validation. They will collaborate with audit teams members and business process owners across the organization.

Required Qualifications for Position

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university with major in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related business discipline
  • Completion of intermediate-level coursework
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship
