You will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Lifecycle Sustainment and Modernization Solutions (LSMS) group. LSMS provides sustainment support for the US Air Force B-1 and B-2 Bombers, E-3 Sentry, Airborne Warning and Control System, and numerous other Government platforms. Our team members complete engineering, reverse engineering, and logistics solution efforts to solve complex obsolescence problems and ensure warfighter supportability.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Review inspection reports for accuracy, completeness, and procedural adherence
- Analyze, interpret, and convert data into format for engineering analysis
- Help prepare inspection documentation to identify test parameters and requirements
- Help process change control documents and supports Material Review Board dispositions
- Participate in R&D programs to improve system capabilities and bring new ideas & technology into projects and pursuits
- Communicate and interact with suppliers, component designers, safety, tooling engineers, and management personnel
- Support activities as required such as proposal support, process instruction revisions, new test development, interpretation of customer technical specifications, and support of internal or external meetings
Basic Qualifications
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
- Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university AND graduating December 2026 or later.
- Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree (or list specific majors)
- Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2026.
- Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Preferred Qualifications
- Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.7/4.0 or higher
- Involvement with Student Design Competitions (SAE Mini Baja, SAE Formula, ASCE Concrete Canoe, etc.)
- CAD proficient (not experts, but at least one Semester CAD/Drafting with SolidWorks, NX, or similar
- Be available to work an abbreviated schedule on-site in Oklahoma City during the 2026 academic year.
- Good presentation and writing/communication skills.
- Self-motivated, willing to learn and interested in working in a team environment.
- Be involved and interested in STEM classes, extracurricular, clubs, etc.
- Prior internship or research experience in related field
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite
At Northrop Grumman, our internship pay rates are standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative.
The pay ranges for this specific opportunity are as follows:
Undergraduate degrees (Including graduating students planning on attending/enrolled in a full-time Master’s program): $17.00 - $31.25
Masters degrees : $24.50 - $38.50
