Withum is seeking accounting majors graduating in the upcoming academic year to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) team as interns, with the opportunity to transition into our full-time class starting in November 2026.

 As a SALT Intern, you will support the tax department in managing compliance and consulting activities related to state and local taxes. You may work on State and Local Tax engagements, including sales tax audit defense, compliance, responding to government agencies and client requests, researching taxability of products and services in various jurisdictions, as well as assisting with other tax types such as income, payroll, and gross receipts taxes.

This internship is for our Winter session (January- April) or Summer session (June- August).  

Qualifications:

  • College student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week
  • Ability to commute to one of our office locations
  • Excellent interpersonal and computer skills

For positions in New York City, the compensation for this position ranges from $25-30 per hour. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications.
