Job Description
Position Summary
The Tenant Coordination Intern will provide support to the Tenant Coordination team in the design and construction phases of tenant projects within our retail portfolio. This role offers exposure to the full tenant coordination process, including plan review, permitting, construction progress, and store openings. Interns will have the opportunity to contribute to projects that directly impact the business, gain insight into retail real estate operations, and develop professional skills through mentorship, training, and collaboration. At the conclusion of the program, interns will complete a cross-functional group internship project and present their work to executive leadership.
Responsibilities
Support the Tenant Coordination team with daily administrative and project-related tasks.
Track design and construction timelines from tenant prospect through store opening, with a focus on early openings.
Assist with plan submittals, reviews, approvals, lease reviews, permitting, construction progress, and opening coordination.
Review tenant signage shop drawings against company design criteria for coordinator approval.
Prepare and edit reports, presentations, and research to support business needs.
Organize, schedule, and manage confidential information and data.
Other projects as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Currently enrolled in a college or university with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and May 2027, preferably with a degree focus in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or Construction Management.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to take initiative.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills., creative, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in a team environment.
Possesses analytical, creative, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to read and interpret construction documents is a plus.
Knowledge of national building codes, building materials and systems (i.e. MEP), and life safety is a plus.
