About the Role:

Baird’s Equity Asset Management business is seeing strong growth with assets under management (AUM) climbing to $11 billion in the past few years. Baird Equity Asset Management growth is expected to continue given the addition of new products, new teams, and an increased distribution platform. Within Baird Equity Asset Management, the Specialized Asset Management (SAM) team manages multi asset class portfolios designed exclusively for Baird’s high-net-worth clients. The SAM team has seen rapid growth from increased adoption by Baird’s financial advisors, and SAM has reached $7 billion in AUM.

This internship requires working full time during the summer, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday in our downtown Milwaukee, WI office. We are seeking a student who can start in May 2026.

The Impact You’ll Make:

  • Participate fully in the research process with the responsibilities of a full-time investment research analyst

  • Assist with the second quarter earnings season coverage of owned and watchlist companies

  • Prepare and pitch an investment overview for a public company

  • Analyze company filings alongside our investment research team

  • Lead investment research meetings with public company representatives and professional sell-side research analysts to ask questions and learn more about public companies

  • Maintain and improve research systems that include regular updates to coverage/idea list, company reports, portfolio data and valuation and price charts

  • Bring energy to the team and actively contribute to our culture of continuous improvement

What You’ll Bring to Baird:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance or business, applied investment programs preferred. All majors considered

  • Anticipated graduation date of May 2027 or later; May 2028 and May 2029 graduates should feel confident applying

  • Minimum GPA of 3.5 or higher

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written

  • Ability and willingness to ask questions to learn our business to develop a strong understanding of key priorities

  • A deep interest in and curiosity for financial markets, particularly fundamental equity research and portfolio construction

  • Strong skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel; knowledge of FactSet is a plus
