User Experience Design Intern (Hybrid)
Dates: June 1, 2026, through August 7, 2026
Work Location: 5910 Mineral Point Road, Madison, WI | Hybrid

Early Development Program (EDP)
An internship path focused on delivering a meaningful experience designed to enhance students’ skillsets. With access to hands-on experience, mentorship, development sessions/workshops, and more, this pathway cultivates future talent who are exploring their career interests. Most appropriate for freshmen and sophomores.
Job Purpose:
This role is designed to provide hands-on experience to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures, and standards of the TruStage Digital Experience team within our Enterprise Information Technology Division. Candidates will have the chance to apply what they have learned in a classroom while gaining new skills in a dynamic professional setting.
This position will work with a creative, nimble Digital Experience team focused on helping the BXU sales team achieve their strategic goals in a changing world. No two days are the same and will require flexibility, attention to detail, and self-motivation to solve problems and bring forward solutions. The ideal candidate will have interaction or user experience design coursework with a desire to move into a UX/UI design career after graduation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging digital customer experiences by combining innovation, technology, customer insights, and business needs.
- UI design of e-mails and websites, building prototypes, and conducting user experience tests.
- Refining designs to meet customer expectations.
- Practice design thinking and iteratively craft our solutions based on customer research and testing
- Collaborate with customers and help shape the ideal end-user experience
- Hands-on creative problem solving
- Produce design deliverables that communicate design solutions and facilitate discussion using Information architecture, wireframing, storyboarding, visualization, prototyping, sketching, surveying, user research, personas, user testing

Job Requirements:
- Working towards a relevant degree or equivalent work experience
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Intellectual curiosity and the desire to learn
Preferred Experience:
- Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), User Experience Design, Interaction Design, Computer Science (with UX/UI, front-end, or design emphasis)
- Strong computer (Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, Axure; or equivalent), analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Embrace feedback and have a desire for continuous iteration and improvement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must, as well as intellectual curiosity and the desire to learn.
- Honesty, integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality are required.
- Must be able to think, act, and prioritize in a pressured, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Base Salary Range:
