The Role  

We are seeking a highly motivated intern to join our Quantitative Research & Data Science (MAQR) team. This role is ideal for graduate students currently pursuing a Master’s degree in a technical discipline who are eager to apply their skills in real-world research and data projects. 

As an intern, you will work closely with senior researchers and data scientists on projects that bridge advanced quantitative methods, modern machine learning, and financial applications. This internship provides an opportunity to learn from experienced practitioners, contribute to active projects, and gain exposure to the workflows of a leading quantitative research team. 

Responsibilities 

  • Assist in building, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets, including financial market, insurance, and alternative data.
  • Support the design and evaluation of statistical and machine learning models for forecasting, risk analysis, and market behavior.
  • Work with researchers to implement algorithms in Python and related tools.
  • Contribute to AI/ML projects across domains such as time series forecasting, optimization, and conversational AI.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, anomalies, and potential predictive signals.
  • Document findings and present results to team members in a clear and concise manner.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to test research ideas and contribute to model validation.
  • Ensure projects align with standards of trust, transparency, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline seeking Masters (Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Physics, Engineering, or related field).
  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s program in a technical discipline.
  • Strong programming skills in Python (familiarity with pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow is a plus).
  • Solid foundation in probability, statistics, and linear algebra.
  • Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git) and basic software engineering practices.
  • Intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and willingness to learn from senior researchers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation 

The expected hourly rate for this role is $43.27/hour.
