Purpose:
Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is seeking a Student Worker Intern to support the mission of Grand Canyon University by serving within GCE’s Ground Traditional Enrollment team. This position will focus on assisting Spanish-speaking families through translation, communication, and admissions-related guidance. The purpose of this role is to help promote successful engagement between families and the admissions team by providing clear bilingual support during campus visits, family meetings, tours, presentations, and follow-up interactions. The student worker will contribute to a positive admissions experience by offering culturally responsive communication while sharing insights from the GCU student perspective
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide verbal and written translation between Spanish and English for families, staff, and UACs.
· Assist in meetings with Spanish-speaking families, ensuring clear and accurate communication.
· Support the UAC by relaying information, answering family questions, and providing general customer service.
· Conduct follow-up calls, emails, and messages to Spanish-speaking parents as needed.
· Help prepare translation materials, documents, and resources to support family engagement.
· Assist with focused admissions events.
· Provide a positive and professional representation of GCU to visiting students and parents.
· Support special projects as assigned.
· Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and excellent customer service at all times.
· Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations.
Qualifications:
· Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required (spoken and written).
- Local students strongly preferred (live in-person in the Phoenix-area year-round for the Calendar year
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to interact respectfully and professionally with families from diverse backgrounds.
· Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
· Prior customer service or translation experience is a plus but not required.
· Must be a current student in good academic standing.
Education:
Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
- Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program.
- Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA.
- Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
Pay rate: Minimum Wage
Expected End Date: June 30, 2026
