Position Overview

As an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Co-op, you will gain hands-on experience supporting Insulet’s Environmental, Health, Safety program. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory compliance, promote a safe workplace, and contribute to sustainability initiatives. Your role bridges the gap between safety requirements and operational success, requiring both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills. Working closely with Operations leadership, you'll drive safety initiatives. You'll conduct comprehensive risk assessments, analyze safety data, and implement practical solutions that protect associates while supporting productivity. Your ability to build relationships and influence positive change will be essential as you help shape our safety culture. This role is ideal for students pursuing degrees in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with manufacturing operational leaders on a daily basis to assist with all safety initiatives.

  • Assist in conducting EHS assessments including PPE evaluations, hazard/risk analysis, and safety walks.

  • Regularly review onsite standards and review for OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ANSI compliance.

  • Support the development and delivery of safety orientation and environmental training programs.

  • Participate in safety audits, inspections, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).

  • Help manage the Overall Safety Program and maintain EHS documentation.

  • Contribute to ergonomic assessments and machine guarding evaluations.

  • Assist in updating and maintaining EHS training retention programs.

  • Assist with HAZMAT evaluations and documentation ensuring EPA compliance

  • Participate in accident investigations and root cause analysis using tools like 5-Why and fishbone

  • Attend daily leadership meetings and contribute to safety communications.

  • Lead Associate Safety Committee meetings and initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a BSinEnvironmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or related fields. 

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

  • Data Analysis: Excel

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Ability to effectively communicate with cross functional teams.

  • Planning/Prioritizing 

  • Decision making and problem solving

  • Written and verbal communication

Physical Requirements:  

  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs occasionally, 5-20lbs frequently 

  • Required to reach above shoulder frequently and below waist occasionally 

  • Required to push and pull 

  • Required to stand and sit for extended periods of time 

  • Must possess awareness of their surroundings and the ability to safely navigate an active production floor 

Additional Information:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $26.00 - $34.25. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
