Job Title: Intern - Technical Writer
Location: Horsham

Job Summary:
As a Technical Writer Intern at Honeywell, in Horsham, you will be responsible for assisting in the creation, editing, and maintenance of technical documentation, supporting the quality assurance process by learning proofreading skills to review content for consistency, clarity, and adherence to style guidelines and contributing to the creation of visual aids, diagrams, and other graphics to support written content.
This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home model, but you will start the role fulltime in the office, for us to support your learning, and be expected to work from the office during training.
This role is part of our University Relations program, designed to help students and recent graduates launch their careers with hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for growth within Honeywell. This internship is set up for 12 months to cover a sandwich placement starting in Summer 2026, or for a graduate from 2025 or 2026, with the possibility of a permanent role after the placement.

Key responsibilities:
You will work closely with experienced professionals, as well as an assigned buddy, to gain hands-on experience within a friendly and supportive team to be trained to achieve the following:
- Research and understand complex technical concepts to translate them into clear and concise language for various audiences by working with our engineers to understand our products
- Assist in the creation, editing, and maintenance of technical documentation, including user manuals, data sheets, installation instructions, and online help files
- Participate in the development of documentation processes and workflows to improve efficiency
- Use the products being documented to gain a thorough understanding and accurately represent features and functionalities in written content
- Support the quality assurance process by proofreading and reviewing documentation for consistency, clarity, and adherence to style guidelines and help maintain the document management system and update existing documents as needed
- Contribute to the creation of visual aids, diagrams, and other graphics to support written content
Key skills and qualifications:
- Studying or recently graduated with a degree in Technical Communication, Graphic Design, English Language, Computer Science or a related field, (either a 2028 grad requiring a 12-month industrial placement or a graduate in 2025 or 2026)
- Business level English communication skills, both written and spoken
- Experience or familiarity with HTML or CSS or DITA, and MadCap Flare or Adobe InDesign or Oxygen XML
- An interest in software or electrical engineering concepts, as this role is translating these concepts into approachable language
- Basic understanding of Agile development methodologies
- Ability to commute with ease to our Horsham office
