Project Description:
Xcel Energy is seeking an intern to support our Talent Acquisition (TA) and Talent Management (TM) teams. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in recruitment operations, onboarding, and employee development programs. As an intern on Xcel’s Human Resources + Employee Services team, youwill contribute to key talentinitiatives, support program execution and collaborate with internal stakeholders across the organization. The program provides practical exposure to TA and TM processes, systems, and continuous improvement efforts, allowing you to apply academic knowledge in a dynamic corporate environment.

Typical intern responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate interviews, assessments, and offer processes

  • Assist with candidate onboarding tasks such as I-9 verification, relocation support, IT coordinationand New Hire Orientation scheduling

  • Manage recruiting documentation, respond to legal and compliance inquiries, and audit requisitions

  • Partner with TA team members to deliver white-glove candidate experiences and communications

  • Support documentation and training efforts related to TA processes and best practices

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of TA and TMevents and programs. This includes employee and leadership development offerings

  • Support the management of TM articles, job aids, and other resources through internal platforms

This position is for a June 1st, 2026start.The internship may be extended beyond theinitialterm based on performance and business needs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current student, Junior status (as of Fall 2026)

  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field

  • Able to commute to the corporate office and work a hybrid schedule on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday weekly

  • Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours/week)/ part time during the fall (up to 20 hours a week).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3.0 GPA (out of a 4.0 scale) or higher

  • Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
