Position Overview:
Eaton’s Energy Transition Team is currently seeking an Electronics Engineering Intern.
The hourly rate for this position is $22.15 - $27.69 per hour.

The Product Development Electronic Engineer is responsible for supporting the creative design and development of IoT-connected home energy management systems, intelligent vehicle-to-home/grid (V2X) power management products, plus other electric power grid system solutions.
This position will contribute to the overall electrical design of a product with involvement from project initiation thru manufacturing launch, plus ongoing developments. The Product Development Electronic Engineer will contribute to the creative design and development of electronic circuits, both analog and digital and work closely with the Engineering Manager, Program Manager, other Electrical Engineers, System Architects, Firmware Engineers, and Mechanical Engineers to develop the products in an organized and expedient fashion per our Pro-Launch process.
What you’ll do:
- Participate in the design of analog and digital circuits, including power supplies, signal conditioning, and microprocessor support circuits.
- Research new technologies or new methods to solve a technical problem, develop solution concepts, select appropriate electronic components, design PCBAs or other electronic hardware, fabricate and debug prototypes, and conduct proof of concept testing.
- Support enhancements of existing products and services based on evaluations of existing and new technologies per Eaton’s strategic plans.
- Support the technical evaluations of third-party solutions and assess opportunities to develop partnerships or and new suppliers.
- Contribute to international project teams assigned to research, design, develop, test and/or launch new innovations; ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar function from an accredited institution with graduation no later than August 2027
- Minimum of one internship or co-op experience or an equivalent of 3 months work experience completed at the time of this application.

- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher (please don't round).

Preferred Qualifications:
- Nice to have experience with Altium or similar PCB design tool, SPICE simulation, basic oscilloscope and power supply usage.
