Walker & Dunlop’s Summer Internship Program provides a dynamic environment for students to learn aspects of the commercial real estate finance industry. Each year, W&D invites a distinguished group of interns to participate in a ten-week training and mentoring program to help build their skills and learn about the organization. Interns will play supporting and individual contributor roles and have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to our business through hands-on training.

Primary Responsibilities:
The Intern will be placed within a functional team in the Affordable Housing group, depending on capacity and need, which may include asset management, finance, acquisitions and underwriting, or development. As a member of these teams, the Intern will assist with various analyses and projects which may include:
Detailed review of property financial data, T12 financial reports, rent rolls, operating budget, capital expense needs, applicable rent restrictions, market surveys, and rent and sales comps.
Review of third-party diligence reports and assisting in the preparation of investment committee memos.
Assisting with market research and analyzing demographic data.
Assisting with routine management of the Affordable Equity portfolio, such as helping with reserve requests and capital contribution packets.
Working on special projects for internal or external review, such as compiling data, backfilling the Affordable Equity database, and special research projects.
Interfacing with various departments within the firm, including Originations, Acquisitions, Asset Management, Investor Relations, Affordable Debt and Affordable Investment Sales.
Education and Experience:
Must be enrolled full-time and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an undergraduate program at an accredited university
Must be at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the U.S.
Must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA
Must be able to commit to the 10-week program beginning June 1st and ending August 7th
Relevant work experience a plus

This position pays $28/hr.
