Salary Range: 25 to 25 (Currency: USD) (Pay period: per-hour-wage)

CX2 is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to work with us during the 2025 Fall semester/quarter.
This role is based at our company HQ in El Segundo, CA. Candidates must be available to be onsite a minimum of 15 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Prototyping: Assist in designing and prototyping mechanical components for drones, including frames, mounts, and payload systems, using CAD software.
- Structural Analysis: Conduct simulations and stress analyses to evaluate the structural integrity and performance of drone components.
- Testing and Validation: Support the testing of drone systems and components to ensure performance, durability, and compliance with design specifications.
- Manufacturing Support: Collaborate with the manufacturing team to optimize designs for production and assist in building prototypes.
- Research and Development: Contribute to research initiatives focused on improving drone aerodynamics, materials, and mechanical efficiency.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering drawings, reports, and documentation for design and testing processes.
Qualifications:
- Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (junior or senior year preferred).
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) tools.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes such as 3D printing, CNC machining, and injection molding.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in design and analysis.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and presentations.
- Passion: Enthusiasm for drone technology and a desire to learn and innovate in the field.

- To Conform to US Government Regulations, applicant must be a U.S. Citizen or National or U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
