Job Summary:

The Supply Chain Management (SCM) Intern will gain hands-on experience in supply chain operations, planning, manufacturing, and business management at Panasonic Energy’s Gigafactory. This role provides exposure to real-world project management activities, from scheduling and risk assessment to cross-functional collaboration. Interns will develop skills in data analysis, problem-solving, and process improvement while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Successful completion of this internship will provide invaluable knowledge, professional growth, and a strong addition to your resume.

Internship Details:

  • 12-week Program: Monday, May 18th - Friday, August 7th (dates are subject to change)
  • The program will be a full-time paid summer internship working for Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America onsite in DeSoto, KS
  • Must be able to attend the entirety of the internship  
  • Local candidates preferred

Essential Duties:

Project Support & Coordination:

  • Assist in managing supply chain projects and programs throughout their life cycle
  • Support project scheduling, daily standup meetings, and coordination with cross-functional teams
  • Contribute to stakeholder requirement gathering and project documentation review

Data & Risk Analysis:

  • Collect, analyze, and present project and supply chain data using Microsoft Office Suite tools
  • Review budgets and analyze cost factors for projects
  • Identify project risks or constraints and support implementation of risk mitigation strategies

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with contractors, vendors, and internal departments to ensure on-time, within-budget project completion
  • Build strong working relationships across departments through effective communication and teamwork
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders

Professional Development:

  • Strengthen organizational, planning, and time management skills in a dynamic environment
  • Gain exposure to supply chain management best practices and business processes
  • Learn from experienced professionals while contributing innovative ideas and solutions

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

  • To ensure health and safety in the workplace and for employee protection, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. A respirator fit test will be required based on functional area.

Qualifications:  Required and/or Preferred

Education:

  • Required: Completion of at least 2 years of full-time enrollment (minimum 12 credit hours per semester) at an accredited four-year college or university and pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Project Management, Data Analysis, or a related field

Essential Qualifications:

  • GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or university
  • Basic knowledge of project management processes and tools
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly convey technical information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to apply logical and analytical thinking to a wide range of practical and intellectual problems
  • Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Alignment to Panasonic’s seven (7) core principles (contribution to society, fairness and honesty, cooperation and team spirit, untiring effort for improvement, courtesy and humility, adaptability, gratitude)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience through project teams, internships, or previous roles
