Job Description

The Robert Bosch Corporation realizes the mutual benefit of developing Quality Engineering students over several work terms. Therefore, we are seeking to hire students who wish to work three or more terms at the Florence manufacturing facility. At the Florence, KY facility, Bosch designs and produces automotive steering components and systems sold to vehicle OEMs throughout North America.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include but not limited to the following.

  • Obtain an understanding of Bosch Problem Solving/Troubleshooting Tools
  • Obtain an understanding and ability to manipulate basic internal databases
  • Understand the purpose and ability to change Process Quality Documents
  • Assist in problem solving, containment and corrective actions.
  • Assist engineers with improvement and cost saving projects.
  • Obtain knowledge in Bosch measurement systems and their use in production
  • Accurately measure dimensions using dedicated and sensitive gauging equipment.
  • Understand and assist in performing Gage R&R’s and capability studies.
  • Understand the Principles of Bosch Production Systems.
  • Competent use of systematic problem solving tools (SPC, Pareto, fishbone, etc.)
  • Become knowledgeable of the content and purpose of a control plan and FMEA.
  • Use measurement tools for production and process troubleshooting.
  • Utilize test and measurement methods (R&R, SPC, CPK, etc.)
  • Participate on SPI teams and demonstrate competent use of the system
  • Understand and participate in establishing failure modes for RPN’s

Qualifications

  • ​​​​​​Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree from a 4 year university and be actively enrolled for the duration of your co-op.
    • Ability to rotate back at least every other term for at least 3 rotations preferred but not required

    • Effectively communicate with different levels of associates and cultures
    • Ability to work with workshop personnel
  • Self-starting, results oriented, flexible, team player
  • Meet deadlines on assigned tasks, utilize project timeline tools, effectively communicate goals and results, ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
