Under general supervision provides essential support for departmental functions that include a wide range of activities and initiatives.

  • Perform operational and administrative functions as it relates to academic major
  • Independently work on special projects as assigned by functional leader
  • Assist in implementing functional strategies and contribute to the team's success in reaching goals and objectives
  • Support the departmental deliverables and be proactive in planning and supporting tasks

Job Specific Responsibilities: 

  • This was position will be in the Mechanical Designer office to get a feel for the engineering design work we do as well as involvement in our Engineering Capital Project management and execution across all facilities.  
  • This will provide the intern some exposure to a number of different functional areas throughout their summer internship with us. 
  • Summer Internship in Process Controls dealing with new capital projects across all plants.   
  • Technology/process focused projects including developing scope, project requests, equipment requisition, planning, scheduling, and implementation.  
  • Reverse engineering components and assemblies through our Green Tag Process for the purpose of cost savings, lead time reduction and reliability improvements.
  • Assist in control systems for capital projects for new equipment and upgrades. 
  • Support innovation, best practices, and value for the organization. 
  • Investigates new technologies to see if they are viable for applications and reports findings to their direct manager. 
  • Identifies repetitive issues to increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

In addition to the responsibilities listed above, other duties may be assigned by your supervisor, as dictated by business necessity. 

  • Have an applicable degree program and coursework that corresponds with the internship applied for.
  • Applicable experience within the technical fields preferred. 
  • Knowledge - Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite  
  • Skills - Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and excellent communication skills are all essential to this position. Effective presentation skills 
  • Abilities - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to interact and collaborate with a variety of individuals in a professional manner.
