Position Overview

As a Technical Animator Intern, you’ll collaborate with engineers and artists to bring realistic motion and character performance to life — connecting animation, physics, and AI. You’ll gain hands-on experience working at the intersection of art and technology within a fast-moving robotics company.

Responsibilities

Assist in the development and implementation of animation pipelines for humanoid and robotic characters.
Support rigging, retargeting, and motion capture workflows.
Work with engineers to integrate animation data into real-time systems and simulations (e.g., Unreal, Unity, Isaac Sim).
Prototype motion blending and procedural animation tools.
Help debug and optimize animation assets for runtime performance.

Preferred Qualifications

Pursuing a degree in Computer Animation, Game Development, Computer Science, or related field.
Familiarity with Maya, Blender, or MotionBuilder.
Basic understanding of rigging, motion capture, and animation principles
Python or C++ scripting for animation tools or pipeline automation.
Curiosity about simulation, robotics, or physically-based animation.
Strong collaborative mindset — comfortable working with both artists and engineers.

Base Salary Range

$100,000—$300,000 USD
