This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems Sector in Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s B-2 Stealth Bomber Modification Team, under the Aircraft Solutions Business Unit. In this role, you will help keep the B-2 fleet on the cutting edge of technology by continually installing capability upgrades. As an engineering intern, you will work directly with a team of mechanical, electrical, industrial and manufacturing engineers, as well as with technicians directly performing work on the aircraft. In addition to this production-like environment, you may also have the opportunity to support Air Force B-2 pilots, maintainers, and logisticians through other Northrop Grumman efforts at Whiteman AFB.
Basic Qualifications
A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and graduating after August 2026.
Be majoring in or having majored in one of the following engineering disciplines: Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Industrial or Systems or related STEM field.
Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during Summer 2026.
Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Northrop Grumman will submit the clearance request.
Be available to work in person at Whiteman AFB, Missouri.
Preferred Qualifications:
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher
Have strong verbal and written communication skills and experience working with a team
Have past work experience, especially work applicable to your degree program
Intern Pay Range
Undergraduate degrees (Including graduating students planning on attending/enrolled in a full-time Master’s program): $16.25 - $36.50
Masters degrees : $21.25 - $46.00
At Northrop Grumman, our internship pay rates are standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative.
